Day 2: From Dobrošov Fortress to the Small Spa Běloves

Above the town of Náchod, a fascinating trip to the Dobrošov Fortress awaits you. Accompanied by a guide, you'll explore the chilly corridors of this unique military structure, a must-see for history enthusiasts. From there, continue to the Jirásek Chalet, designed by architect Dušan Jurkovič, where you can enjoy refreshments along with views of Náchod and the Polish border. Next, head to the Běloves Fortress Open-Air Museum and finish your day with well-deserved relaxation at the Small Spa Běloves – by the mineral springs, in a cozy café, or at a cultural event in the spa park.

Day 3: Through Grandmother’s Valley to Hronov – for Stories and Serenity

Babiččino údolí near Česká Skalice is a picturesque destination ideal for a leisurely trip, delighting both literature lovers and nature enthusiasts. The barrier-free trails take you past the Ratibořice Chateau, the statue of the Grandmother with her grandchildren, and the Old Bleaching Ground – all iconic settings from the works of Božena Němcová. In Hronov, you can visit the birthplace of writer Alois Jirásek or soak in the atmosphere of Čapek’s Mill, featuring an exhibition dedicated to the childhood of the famous Čapek siblings. Along the way, stop for a coffee and absorb the tranquil spirit of this region.

Day 4: From Karlova Koruna through Hrádek to Prehistory

Chlumec nad Cidlinou is a splendid place where history and nature blend together. The castle park and the imposing Karlova Koruna Castle will enchant you with their beauty and offer experiences such as guided tours or concerts, even in the newly renovated riding hall. Nearby is the Hrádek u Nechanic Castle with an English park and a golf course, where you can also enjoy cultural events such as festivals and celebrations. For history enthusiasts, there is the Všestary Archaeopark, where you can learn all about the life of our ancient ancestors.

Day 5: For the Beauty of the City and Nature to Hradec Králové

Hradec Králové is the ideal place for nature lovers. The city is interwoven with cycling paths that lead not only along the Elbe and Orlice rivers but also to the outskirts of the city. The city centre is full of historical and architectural gems, such as the romantic Jiráskovy sady park with the confluence of the rivers, the Hučák hydroelectric power plant, and Gočár’s buildings. The Museum of Eastern Bohemia offers a view into the city’s history and the work of architect Josef Gočár. If you’re seeking peace and quiet, head to the Municipal Forests, where you’ll find trails also suitable for wheelchair users. Along the way to game reserves and ponds, you can stop and relax at forest refreshment points.
