Day 2: Experience the Charm of Hronov and the Na Signálu Lookout Tower

Hronov breathes the spirit of Jirásek – in his birth house, a traditional timbered cottage, you can discover the world of an old bakery and rural life of the 18th century. In August, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Jirásek's Hronov theatre festival, and if you're brave enough, try the local sulfur springs. Just a short distance away, visit the Čapek Mill, where the famous siblings Karel, Josef, and Helena spent their childhood. After soaking up the history, treat yourself to the renowned pastry shop on the town square and enjoy breathtaking views from the Na Signálu lookout tower.

Day 3: Follow the literary footsteps from Náchod to Babička

Walk in the footsteps of literary heroes from Náchod to Ratibořice, just as in the pages of books. Sit on a bench with Josef Škvorecký or visit his study in the exhibition at the Spolek House, where you'll also enjoy a jazz café. You can also admire the beautiful local castle.

In Česká Skalice, follow the traces of Božena Němcová. At the museum, you’ll explore her life, dance in the Jiřinka Hall, and visit Barunka's school. For fans of contemporary art, there is the Luxfer Gallery. In the Baroque church, you can recall the wedding of Barbora Panklová and Josef Němec. And then, it’s off to Ratibořice. The Old White House, the castle, and Babiččino údolí are straight out of the pages of her most famous book – perfect for an afternoon trip full of nostalgia and nature.

Day 4: Follow in the Footsteps of Alois Jirásek – A Trip to the Fortress and Spa Town

A journey in the footsteps of Alois Jirásek is not only a literary pilgrimage but also an exploration of beautiful landscapes and rich history. The section of the Jirásek Trail from Náchod to Dobrošov leads you through countryside that inspired the famous writer to pen works such as At the Ducal Court and the four-part chronicle Among Us. The climb to Dobrošov Fortress rewards you not only with stunning views but also with fascinating tours of the Czechoslovak fortification bunkers.

At the Jirásek Chalet, you can enjoy a tasty meal along with panoramic views of Náchod Castle. On the way back to the town, don’t miss the Běloves Spa – with a modern colonnade, cultural events, and mineral water to taste. This route truly has it all – culture, scenery, and a touch of history.
